This cute little home is being built as a retirement home for my clients mom. This one bedroom home will consist of a large open plan kitchen and living area which leads to a private deck with a built in braai. My clients mom loves being creative, so it was a must that there was a sufficient studio space for her arts and crafts.

The main bedroom will have an ensuite space (that also has a door to the living area) with a walk-in shower and amble space to a large vanity area. On the opposite end is the craft room which can also be used as a guest room space if needed. Behind the craft roof is the scullery area to ensure that the kitchen space is kept clean.

 

The house will have a concrete floor with a timber framed wall structure built up from the slab. A large monopitch roof structure will float over the house and provide enough shading over the deck area aswell as the indoor spaces to avoid it becoming too hot in our South African climate. The glazed areas are orientated true north to ensure adequate heating in cold winter months.
